Porcelain bathtubs refer to the finished surface material that is baked onto either steel or cast-iron bathtubs. Porcelain-enameled coatings produce a non-porous glass-like surface that resists scratching, chemicals, heat, UV, static, and bacteria growth.
Repairing porcelain tubs requires specialized processes, fillers, and coatings to achieve a high-strength chemical bond and a finish that matches, as close as possible, the original kiln dried enamel finish.

Fiberglass Tub Repair

While fiberglass tubs are more easily damaged, especially penetrating damage like cracks, fractures, and holes, minor chip repair usually requires fewer steps to achieve a high-strength bond compared to porcelain-enameled tubs.
Damage to the fiberglass reinforcement of these tubs can also be repaired using specialized resins, fibers, and fillers.

Tubs made from composite materials eliminate the multi-material layering of traditional tub manufacturing by blending resins and other fine natural or synthetic materials to create a solid surface.
These modern bathtubs can be produced in stunning shapes & colors and are usually freestanding.
